At Onleash, we dared to ask the question, "why does fashion have to go out the window when walking a dog?" After years of being unhappy with the dull selection of leashes and collars on the market, and noticing the lengths to which some will go to coordinate with their dogs (with varying degrees of success!), we decided to remedy the situation. We went a step above the usual 'cutesy' ensembles, and actually looked at pet fashion the way we look at people fashion -- Hence our motto, "Breed fashion".

But looks alone are not enough (insert the 'beauty fades ... ' adage here). Instead, we gathered our moxie, and set out to design products that function better than any others out there. For example, we poured through dozens of nylon webbing samples until we found just the right one for our leashes and collars (one that molds to your hand, but feels sturdy, like a well-built automobile). We also sampled over 50 leash handle designs until we found one that’s not only visually striking, but we guarantee is the most comfortable leash handle you’ll ever feel.

Fun Facts about Onleash – Did You Know?

(1) We tried over 50 variations of our leash handle design before we arrived at the present design, one we guarantee is the most comfortable you’ll ever feel (we’re serious). It sounds odd, but if our manufacturer adds even one extra line of stitching, we can tell.
(2) When you buy on our website, you can choose which pet rescue you want us to donate to? As a part of the checkout process on our website, you can specify a rescue you would like us to donate 10% of the sale to. We have currently partnered with two great, local charitable organizations – Greyhound Friends of North Carolina (greyhoundfriends.com, contact Deb Rater) and Project Halo (projecthalo.net, contact Rhonda), both caring, privatelyfunded organizations!
(3) Our leashes, collars, scarves, armbands, and handbags are all manufactured in New Jersey? Nearly all of our raw materials (as any as possible) come from the U.S. too! For example, the webbing is produced in California. The nickel hardware (with the exception of our logo loop which we had to have made in China), is produced in Connecticut! The only major exception is our fabrics, which are imported from France and Italy. (4) We offer three types of purses: a contemporary zipper purse, our signature “Opera purse”™, and our signature “Tulip purse”™.
